Bird poo - etched into paint. How to remove?

-
Bird poo, bat poo and bug splatter can be quite acidic - and even more so as it dries. Etching from these results in physical damage that has eaten thru your protective sealant and wax layers and into the clearcoat. Polishing the panel can remove the appearance of the etching. Conversly, proper preparation and respraying addititional layers of clearcoat (followed by polishing) can restore the etched area.
Really, the best protection is to :
1. keep your vehicle undercover
2. maintain and replenish the sacrificial sealant and wax layers regularly
3. rinse bird poo with fresh water as soon as practical
4. clean of bug splatter with every regular wash. Never scrub bugs vigorously, use a preparation that will help disolve them, such as Bowden's Own "Bugger Off"
