I'm finding the new Mazdas are getting ridiculously thin as well too. My wife bought a new 3 and I specifically told the dealer not to detail anything. When we got the car, the roof was like 80. Other panels were around 100-120.

I'll remeasure my CX5, but I recall it being as low as 70-80 on the roof. Up to a max 120 I think. Very very thin.

70-80 on the roof! That's shockingly low, you can't even play with it

Gen 3 94 Honda Integra - Thunder Grey Metallic - 90-110 - CoB - roof had UV exposure thus was a bit thin. Tried to correct it, suffered strike through and now at 75. No clear coat left so about 80 is the limit in this case. Good example cause I went past it oops. Also the reason I bought a depth gauge

UC1 Honda Accord 07 - 92-129 - Nighthawk black CoB - had been corrected very lightly (and poorly) once before but don't think much was taken off

Does anyone know the depth on mitsu lancers? Specifically the Evo X. But I don't think it he very different from a normal lancer anyway..

                          Cheers

Thanks for the info guys. Anyone got the readings on a Toyota Aurion? I'd presume low? Also a '99 Jeep Cherokee?
                            I don't have access do a meter.

Naldo was kind enough to check the paint depth of my car, and I thought I might update the details here..

                                Make: Mitsubishi
                                Model: Lancer Evolution X
                                Year: 2012
Average Paint Depth range (Microns): All metal panels 85-105
                                All aluminium panels - (1)Bonnet 55-65 (2)Roof - 75-78 (3) F Fenders Low 60s and high 50s
                                Paint Type: CoB

I'd most probably opti-coat all aluminium bits just to be safe.
                                Cheers..
