  • Mitsubishi Lancer Show Car

This weeekend I had this Lancer showcar in for a paint correction. The wheels were a big hit in the early year 2000, AME Modularts 3 piece. I gave them a polish up around 3 weeks ago and yesterday I tackled the rest of the car.

Paint depths measured in the low to mid 100.

Clay Bar done & rubbers taped up

    Door Before:

DoorAfter: (Scratches also removed from door handle)

    Guard done:

    Bonnet:

    Roof:

    Finished Shots:

    The Interior:

The interior had a total of 8 speakers

The interior had a total of 7 TV screens (Headrests, doors, back arm rests and dash)

    4 Downlights in the roof:

All in all job took was good. Used Menzerna 2500 on yellow pad, Duragloss 601 & 105 for sealant. Job took around 8hrs.

Don't know that I'd want to face that interior first thing in the morning lol. How do those downlights go for heat? I hope they've got good ventilation in the roof cavity :/.

        Good job.

Car is not exactly my cup of tea, but the quality of the work is excellent.

Nice work there Mat! I can see the appeal of this car back when Fast & Furious 1 was around, but not so much any more. Nonetheless, it has been very well kept over the years.

The audio system isn't cheap either being kevlar components and MTX branded.

Not for us to question the taste of owners, but their choice of detailer in this case was spot on. Nice job. Ill make sure my son doesnt see this thread otherwise the tasteful mods on his lancer may give way to something about more radical
The thing that you do, after your day job, in your free time, early in the morning or late at night. The thing you read about, write about, think about, fantasize about. that thing you do alone and theres no one to impress, nothing to prove, no money to be made, simply a passion to pursue. Thats it, thats your thing, thats your heart , your guide, Thats the thing you must, must do.

I actually really like this, just the work in that is awesome, although I was a competitor in Autosalon. +1 on Libs comment as he chose a great detailer to bring it back to its Glory days.

Nice job and the car looks good, the interior is not what I would have in MY car but?

I would feel too hot inside that Red..

                        Cheers guys, appreciate your comments.
Good to see everyone has different tastes and opinions thats the game of modifying cars. As long as the owner is happy and enjoys it hey.
I actually had a lancer as my first car, done completely opposite to this with just a pair of recaros for the interior (ill be detailing that shortly actually).

I think the interior is amazing I cant believe the amount of work someone has sunk into it and the level of work looks spot on ....just really red...but I get that if you are going all out then might as well go all out...

By the way I think I forgot to comment on your good work with the outside...nice one....I reckon those tires must get pretty close to the inner guard lips...they are fricken massive....sweet.n Hectic....
