  • 2010 Volkswagen Passat B6 R36 [Icelandic Grey]

    Hey all!

Pat here! Yep, there is a slight change from the usual JJ posts.

This is my first show and shine post and it is a pleasure to kick it off with the now discontinued Volkswagen Passat R36. A very serious vehicle that will surprise a lot of people with its performance capabilities.

Being a Volkswagen it is a no brainer that the paint was hard. The R36 had numerous scratches, buffer trails, watermarks and oxidisation.

A heavy combo was required to attain correction. This was achieved with the CarPro Flash Pad and HD Cut, followed by HD Polish. 4 coats of OCP+ was applied to the vehicle as per clients request.

    As presented

During the wheel-off detail, the calipers and wheel arches were cleaned and treated

    After

    Wheels coated with OCP+

Before paint correction. The paint was fairly oxidised and lacked clarity.

After correction with HD Cut and Car Pro Flash Pad

    Buffer trails visible

    After paint correction

    Before

    After

Before. Glass had severe water etching

    After

    Before

    After

50/50 Progress on chemically stained trim

    Before

    After

    50/50 C.Quartz DLUX treatment.

    After four layers of OCP+

The rear quarter of the car looks like it just melts away

    Thanks for viewing!

Great seeing your work, Pat. I really love the fluid look in that post shot with the front guard and bonnet.

VW paint so it doesn't have to be that serious to get out these guys out

My eyes my eyes! That is looking so so moist.
And yes.. Shame you couldn't buff it into a Wagon.

                          FOUR coats, wowsers.

Looks like liquid steel in the after shots though. Great job. Had to go past the R36 blue though....
